History . . .

God's Rainbow Promises Fellowship was founded in 1998 by twelve people with the dream of a safe, loving place, where people from all Christian denominations could unite in worship and hear the word of God. We began our mission to serve the Savior from a private residence and moved to a small building in 1999. When we outgrew that space, we moved to our current church home in 2001. We have stood together through the good times and prayed together through the lean times. We are a blessed people that continue to grow and learn together.

Vision Scriptures 2014. . .

Ask, Seek, Knock - Matthew 7:7-8

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." - New International Version (NIV)

"Don’t bargain with God. Be direct. Ask for what you need. This isn’t a cat-and-mouse, hide-and-seek game we’re in. If your child asks for bread, do you trick him with sawdust? If he asks for fish, do you scare him with a live snake on his plate? As bad as you are, you wouldn’t think of such a thing. You’re at least decent to your own children. So don’t you think the God who conceived you in love will be even better?" - The Message (MSG)

The Wise and Foolish Builders - Matthew 7:24-27

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash." - New International Version (NIV)

"These words I speak to you are not incidental additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundational words, words to build a life on. If you work these words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who built his house on solid rock. Rain poured down, the river flooded, a tornado hit—but nothing moved that house. It was fixed to the rock. But if you just use my words in Bible studies and don’t work them into your life, you are like a stupid carpenter who built his house on the sandy beach. When a storm rolled in and the waves came up, it collapsed like a house of cards." - The Message (MSG)

Spiritual Fullness in Christ - Colossians 2:6-7

"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness." - New International Version (NIV)

"My counsel for you is simple and straightforward: Just go ahead with what you’ve been given. You received Christ Jesus, the Master; now live him. You’re deeply rooted in him. You’re well constructed upon him. You know your way around the faith. Now do what you’ve been taught. School’s out; quit studying the subject and start living it! And let your living spill over into thanksgiving." - The Message (MSG)

From the Shadows to the Substance - Matthew 11:28-30

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." - New International Version (NIV)

"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly." - The Message (MSG)

Ms. Debbie - Lay Minister

Debbie grew up in Odessa, TX, and attended Crescent Park Baptist Church from the time she was a toddler until well into her adult years. Debbie accepted Christ at an early age and was very active in various ministries as both a teen and a college student. Debbie was a member of the Youth Choir, served as a lead in the Puppet Ministry, played in the Handbell Choir, and taught younger girls through the Girls in Action program. As an active member of the youth group for 6 years, Debbie attended many summer camps and did mission work for many summers in Mexico and Montana.

Debbie knew from early in her childhood that she was called to teach. Based upon this calling, Debbie set about teaching at every opportunity afforded to her. She taught in the Children's Ministry while in both high school and college and then became a teacher as her full time profession. Using what she believes are her God given talents, Debbie has had both children and adults as her students for the last 26+ years. Helping people grow in both knowledge and understanding, in both a general learning sense and more importantly in God's Word, is what she loves to do each and every day.

Debbie has known that God had a calling on her for many years, but struggled to find the exact place He would have her minister. In 2002, Debbie began attending services at God's Rainbow Promises, and soon thereafter, she knew God had placed her there for a reason. Since that time, Debbie has served as Secretary of the Board, has filled the pulpit on many occasions when called upon, and has been leading a Sunday morning Bible study since January of 2011.

Debbie invites everyone to come be part of the study of God's Word and worship at God's Rainbow Promises.
